This month we would like to promote the book: ROOFING AND CLADDING SYSTEMS HANDBOOK: A GUIDE FOR FACILITY MANAGERS by Robert Reid.
The book is a detailed manual designed to assist the building engineers in their decision making in relation to roofing problems. It is guide to be used when considering short term versus long term maintenance roofing issues. The book will talk about replacements, repairs and upgrades. You will learn about the latest in roofing materials and cladding design. Looking at external factors such as weather, thermal expansion, and contraction and the impact of each of these items when considering the selection of materials other topics include insulation and waterproofing membrane requirements, energy system calculations, fasteners, flashing and more. The book takes into account life cycle of the roof as an asset, environmental considerations, project management, warranty issues and the maintenance involved with roofing systems.
